I closed my eyes, but I didn’t feel like I was being held captive by militants with an AK47 pressed to the back of my skull, being held for ransom in a country continuously torn by pitiful religious wars over whose patch of dirt is holiest, with the ever present threat of nuclear or artillery decimation hanging over the air of everyday life like a plague of horseflies, corrupting every facet of life… huh.
