Rural marketing in India is seen by many as a huge growth opportunity?

considering that about 72 percent of Indian population still lived in rural areas (according to 2001 census). What are the prospects for companies planning to enter the rural market? Base your case on data on the consumption patterns and potential of rural India. And what are the challenges? What are the factors that will decide the success of a rural marketing initiative? Describe some successful and unsuccessful Indian rural marketing initiatives in recent times.

  1. nope not very wise, you have to cover too much territory and get little in return. I suppose you can sell them seeds or livestock

    People go where other people go. Do you have a favorite restaurant or gathering place? Favorite supplier or grocer?

    Businesses are always in competition to offer something that more people prefer, and sometimes it’s as simple as better illumination, cleaner floors, more friendly atmosphere. It could be anything that people are really happier with regardless of prices, and are even willing to pay slightly more for.

    As for the consumption patterns and so forth, that is an assignment from school and you will have to do your own homework for that, but do not forget the simpler things in your evaluations.
