Who would you like to see on the Bank of England bank notes?

As we say goodbye to Edward Elgar, there have been complaints that art, music and literature are no longer adequately represented on bank notes in the UK (excluding Scotland of course who keep Robert Burns).

Currently the denominations and their representatives are:
£5 – Elizabeth Fry – social reformer
£10 – Darwin
£20 – Adam Smith
£50 – John Houblon – 1st governor of the Bank
Are you happy with who is chosen for our currency? How do you think they should be chosen? Who would you like to see on there?

I thought Bank of England never had £5 notes? (Just googled it and they do :P I’ve never seen one)

I’m from Scotland and rarely see BoE notes anyway…

Maybe some explorers like Captain James Cook..
And the greatest Prime Minister of all time…. Winston Churchill :D
