Ultra-fast Otis Elevator at Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta
This one is by far the fastest elevator in Atlanta! This elevator may have an unclaimed record for fastest in America. There is a similar elevator in Tokyo, at Sunshine 60, which travels about the same distance in the same time, while the elevator officially goes 10 m/s (2000 FPM) – fastest in the world from 1978 to 1992 (when the Landmark Tower’s elevators surpassed the ones at Sunshine 60).

Dude get your numbers right. The Sears Tower is 110 floors(1,450ft) and is the tallest building in North America to date and was the tallest in the world till 1998 when the Petrinus Towers in Malaysia surpassed Sears by 30ft. 2660 and 2740ft, LOL…. Sorry Dude, I cant help it. Anything building over 1,000ft is very tall. Infact the Bank of America Plaza building is the 6th tallest in USA and 23 Tallest in the world to date. Skyscrapers like …
.
Skyscrapers like this one need a number of elevator banks that serve different floors (e.g. 2-5, 6-20, 21-36, and 37-50). That way the people who work or visiting the building can get to their destination a lot faster. If the elevator served all floors 2-50, it would take a very long time to go up or down during rush hour. That’s why they need to have an express zone
