Do you have any suggestions for socializing homeschooled kids in a rural environment?

I don’t have kids yet and I don’t live in a rural environment yet, but I’m thinking ahead! Some people think that homeschooling leads to social ineptness, but that’s only if you don’t expose your children to the real world. I’m not planning on homeschooling for sheltering purposes and would actually like to [...]

Taste one…if the wheat germ was racid there will be a weird flowery aftertaste.

What is an easy, cheap way to sterilize sawdust for mushroom cultivation?

I am interested in cultivating mushrooms from a sawdust substrate. I can get cheap sawdust, but I am not interested in spending $400 on high-tech gismos to sterilize the saw dust. Ideally, my budget would be under $100 for everything.
Use hydrogen peroxide 3% solution and soak the sawdust.
